✓ Participating Business
Participating businesses will be clearly distinguished from businesses where discount information comes from other sources.
When a member sees the Participating Business designation, it means the offer was submitted directly through the Senior Vet Discounts business program.
That gives customers greater confidence before deciding where to shop, dine, or do business.
You Choose the Offer
Senior Vet Discounts does not determine how much your business should discount. You do.
Percentage Discount
Examples include 5%, 10%, 15% or another percentage chosen by your business.
Dollar Discount
Offer a specific dollar amount, such as $5 off a qualifying purchase.
Free Item
Restaurants and other businesses may choose to offer a complimentary beverage, dessert, service, upgrade, or other item.
Special Price
Create a Veteran or Senior menu item, service price, admission price, or other special rate.
Special Promotion
Your offer can apply on selected days, during certain hours, or as part of a special promotion.

Have another idea? Your business can describe a benefit that doesn't fit the standard discount categories.
One Registration. One Business Location.
Senior Vet Discounts normally registers participating businesses by physical location.
This is especially important for franchises and chains.
One restaurant or store may choose to offer a discount while another location operating under the same brand may have a different policy.
Registering locations individually helps prevent customers from assuming that an offer at one location automatically applies at every location.
Own More Than One Location?
A business owner or authorized representative may register additional locations that wish to participate.
Multi-location and corporate participation options may also be made available as the Senior Vet Discounts network grows.

Less Than the Cost of One Meal
The founding registration is intentionally affordable.
For $10 for the first year, a participating location can identify itself to Veterans and Seniors who may be deciding where to eat, shop, or do business.
One new customer could potentially cover the cost of the entire first-year registration.
Give Customers a Reason to Choose You
Imagine a Veteran or Senior choosing between two nearby restaurants.
One is simply another restaurant.
The other says:

Keeping Your Offer Accurate
Participating businesses are responsible for providing accurate information about their offers and keeping that information current.
The business determines its own eligibility rules, identification requirements, exclusions, dates, hours, and other conditions.
Senior Vet Discounts may display that information to members but does not determine the business's discount policy.
If an offer changes, participating businesses should update their information so members receive the most current information available.
Community Experience
Senior Vet Discounts members may also share what happened when they visited a business.
Community reports can indicate that a member:
- Received a discount
- Found that the policy differed
- Was told a discount was not available
Community Experience is member-reported information and is kept separate from the official offer submitted by a participating business.
Business-Provided Offer
Your registered offer remains clearly identified as information provided through the participating-business program.
Community Experience
Member reports describe individual experiences and do not automatically change the offer submitted by the business.
Business Participation FAQ
What is a Senior Vet Discounts Participating Business?
It is a registered business location that has chosen to offer a discount, special price, free item, or other benefit to eligible Veterans, military members, Seniors, or both.
Do I have to offer both a Veteran and Senior discount?
No. Your business may offer a Veteran or military benefit, a Senior benefit, or both. The offers do not have to be the same.
Who decides how much the discount is?
Your business does. Senior Vet Discounts does not establish the amount of your offer. You determine the benefit and its terms.
Can I set a minimum age for my Senior discount?
Yes. If your Senior offer has an age requirement, you can specify the minimum qualifying age.
Can I require identification?
Yes. Your business determines what reasonable proof of eligibility it requires and is responsible for communicating those requirements.
Does one registration cover every franchise location?
Normally, no. Registration applies to the physical location being registered. This avoids implying that every location of a franchise or chain has the same policy.
What if I own several locations?
Additional participating locations may be registered under the business program. Multi-location options may be expanded as the network grows.
Can I change my offer later?
Yes. Participating businesses should keep their offer information current. Offer changes may be managed through the merchant account subject to program terms.
Can I use the Senior Vet Discounts logo?
Approved participating businesses may be authorized to use the designated Participating Business badge or logo while their registration remains active and in accordance with logo-use terms.
What happens if I stop participating?
The business should discontinue use of the Participating Business designation, sticker, and authorized provider logo when its registration is no longer active.
